St Barnabas House and Chestnut Tree House are two hospices in Sussex. Each hospice comprises a number of departments, such as Fundraising, Volunteering, Corporate, each with a different audience and objectives.
After a number of years of email marketing being undertaken to a greater or lesser degree in different teams, the Director of Fundraising and Marketing approached Elisabeth, having seen her speak at a conference. The client’s objective was to develop a strategy and standards and also provide some training.
We designed a project which consisted of:
After the interviews, we provided a report on the way forward. This included factors to consider when selecting email tools and thoughts on growing and enhancing their database. We also felt it was important to develop a framework in which emails sent in future would have a professional look and clearer message that referenced both the relevant hospice and either the department or event, using these as co-brands.
The client has now chosen dotMailer as their emailing tool and has produced an internal paper on how they can increase the size and quality of their mailing database.
We have provided training on the legal aspects of emailing, database management and how to craft a great email to around 30 of their staff. This will be followed up by techical training from dotMailer. We have also worked with our design partner Creative Worx to produce email templates which will help them to deliver professional looking emails that conform to best practice.
